ATP World Tour – Proton Malaysian Open

This is something that I’m really happy and excited about: Malaysian Open! Again, a BIG THANK YOU to HCFoo for the free tickets.

Since I got 2 free tickets for the quarterfinals, I asked Chai Lian to come along with me. I actually asked Christine but, she couldn’t make it. =( So, both Chai Lian and I left college around 3pm to the KTM station. Then, we changed to LRT at Bdr Tasik Selatan to Bukit Jalil station. It’s actually the same old way I used to Er Jie’s place last time. I miss going to her Vista Komanwel!

Me with the singles’ main draw board!

We reached the stadium around 4pm++ and was in time to meet up with HCFoo to collect the tickets. At that time, the match between Davydenko and Monfils had just ended and there was an autograph session going on. So, we quickly went to the Wilson booth to purchase some souvenirs and queue up. But, we didn’t make it. =(

Chai Lian and me before the match =)

But, we managed to find the VIP and Players’ lounge and we decided to just wait there for any players to come out. It was so silly but, since we had nothing to do, we just waited there and chit-chatted with the security person. After waiting for sometime, we decided to just leave for the match between Gonzalez and Youzhny.

Me with Gonzalez behind!

The match was nice but, I think it' was a little bit boring. Gonzalez played well but, there weren’t many rallies between both of them and also not many strong shots. But, maybe because we knew Gonzalez would win, that’s why.

One of his cool acts…

I almost half the match to come out to wait for autographs. Thanks to the wrong information given by the security person, there was no autograph sessions at all. I was kind of disappointed but, I soon realised my main purpose there was to watch good tennis. So, it’s didn’t really matter after all.

2 happy girls watching tennis!

At 8pm, we went to watch Verdasco’s match against Gasquet! I like both of them but, I was rooting for Verdasco. The match was very exciting and fun! Verdasco was behind 0-3 for the first set and we were all so nervous. Then, he broke Gasquet’s serve and slowly won the first set. The last game of the set was very interesting coz’ he kept getting advantage and deuce repetitiously.

Verdasco & Gasquet!

My favourite pic of the day! With Verdasco behind…

Verdasco serving…

We had to leave early because I promised Mummy that I will go back early. So, we left when they were in the middle of the second set. Before walking out to the taxi, we quickly snapped some photos with the posters. I want the posters!!!

Me want Verdasco’s gigantic poster! Me want…

No doubt this is one of the highlights of this year. It’s kind of addictive coz’ once you had watched it live, you would want to watch again just like me. After Showdown of Champions KL last year, I loved it so much that I wanted to watch tennis live again. So, what’s next? I heard there’s going to be a WTA next year. Here I come!

Lifetime Opportunity

I had been very lucky lately. Actually, I won’t say lucky but, blessed. I seldom win contests especially the online contests where the most creative answers will win. Sometimes, I wouldn’t even bother to join because I know I won’t win at all.

But, there was once when I was reading some blogs and I came across Timothy Tiah’s blog. The post was about David Tao coming to Malaysia for the T Music Festival and he has some tickets to giveaway. He would give those tickets to 10 people who has the best idea of what they will do when they meet their favourite artists. So, I decided to give it a try.

My answer is very, very long so, I’ll just summarise it here. I listed some of the things that I would do if I meet the artists like asking David Tao to teach me guitar, ask the artists to post on my blog and sing a birthday song for me since my birthday was around that time. And for the first time, I won! I was so hyper-excited about it. But, I had to give up the tickets. Well, not really coz’ I sold it to my friends at a very cheap price. I just had to earn some pocket money for my holidays. I kind of regretted for not going because the seats were good and it’s a very big concert!

Me, after collecting the tickets from NuffNang office =)

But, God is so good to me that He planned another awesome thing for me! Something even better than the concert. Something that I really wanted to go to. It’s the ATP Malaysian Open!!! This time, I got the tickets free courtesy of HCFoo.com. Big THANK YOU to HCFoo!

It’s just so amazing because I was the last person to make the cut so, this means that the next person, who is Ah Wei, didn’t get the chance to go watch live. I know this may not appeal much to most people but, this was something that I wanted to go to for a long time. I even wanted to buy the tickets long ago but, Mummy didn’t allow me. But, somehow, I managed to get the tickets for free!

Me (wearing the ATP Msian Open Wilson cap) with Verdasco behind! I’m so happy~ Btw, I didn’t realise I wore the same tee in both pics! Opps.. Hehe!

Truly, it’s a lifetime opportunity because I won’t be in the country for next year’s Malaysian Open. Although I had to give up the chance to watch T Music Festival, I think going to ATP Malaysian Open was much worth it to me because I really like tennis. Who knows, if I had went to the concert, Mummy wouldn’t even allow me to go for this right?

Coming up soon, I will post about the ATP Malaysian Open! Btw, I just came back few hours ago and I had loads of fun. So, stay tune!

15 and More To Go!

Federer had just won his 15th Grand Slam title last Sunday! I am so excited and relieved that he won Wimbledon. No regrets for staying up late on Sunday night at 1.30am to watch the championship match at all.

Image from rogerfederer.com

I was so nervous when Federer was playing his 5th set. Was so worried that Roddick would break his serves but, he managed to keep the match going until 16-14. I honestly think that Federer didn't play his best. I still prefer his Australian Open 09' finals this year with Nadal although he didn't win.

I can't wait to see him win more! Btw, I can't wait for Malaysian Open coz' I really enjoy watching live matches just like last year's Showdown of KL. I really hope I can go watch! Gonna drag my tennis friends here in college to watch with me. Muahahaha!!!

Tennis in BBST

I finally get to play tennis here in Sepang after just 1 year of staying here. I actually had my tennis rackets with me since last year but, the ones who can play didn't have theirs. So, we had to postpone our tennis plans until 2 weeks ago.

I managed to drag Christine with me coz' otherwise, I would be the only girl there. The tennis courts are located just about 5 mins drive from my college. There are 2 courts there. Surprisingly, there are quite a lot of people who come to play there. Seems like tennis is quite popular here too. Haha..

Me serving!

Christine, the super squash player..

I felt so good to be able to play again after months of MIA in tennis. Christine and I played doubles with 2 girls during our first time playing there. It really reminded me of the old times when I played doubles for competitions. I really miss those times!!!

Christine doing the 'Sharon's Pose'.. Lol~

Me love tennis!

Nostalgia...

With the guys...

Diarrhea Attack! Again...

=( I had a bad diarrhea again.. And because of this, I sadly decided that I better avoid my favourite Japanese sushi next time. I do not like having food poisoning at all! I couldn't sleep well on Friday night and even vomitted all the food I ate. The next day, diarrhea attacked me.

Joa also got food poisoned and she claimed it was the greentea which was left overnight that caused the food poisoning. What a coincidence! -_-|| My condition worsened again later on that day, so my parents brought me to MCMC. I received an injection to relieve my stomach discomfort and also some medicines.

And last night, my lil' sister, was suffering from a really bad stomachache that she vomitted so many times. So, Mummy got her to MCMC again. Pity her.. She had to miss her 1st day of school after CNY holidays.

Btw, I am really, really sad that Fed didn't win Aussie Open last night! I was really hoping he would win his 14th Grand Slam title but, Nadal just have to always stop him. =( I really think Fed should have win. He really played well with all the wonderful strokes he hit. Fed was really sad and disappointed that he cried when he receieved his runner-up plate. This really showed how important this title was to him. Hmph!

Nevermind this, Fed. I believe that he can still win more Grand Slam titles this year although many thinks his era is over. We just have to wait and see...

Showdown of Champions KL

2 weeks ago, 2 of my sisters and I went to watch Federer at the Showdown of Champions! It was an awesome experience. I couldn't believe that one day I will have to chance to watch Federer play live.

The night before the showdown, we heard that Federer was going to have an autogprah session with fans. So, we decided to go for that too! We prepared the things to bring: cards, tennis ball, cap etc.
On the big day itself, we woke up early in the morning and took a cab down to KLCC. After we arrived, we quickly went to find the venue and queue up. After almost 2 hours of waiting, we finally meet Federer! It didn't take a very long time for us to get his autograph. It was super-exciting!

Lynna and I waiting for Fed!

F.E.D.E.R.E.R.

He signed my Wimbledon tennis ball, Swiss flag!!! Got a small poster too:)

After the session, we went to have lunch and went back to ErJie's apartment. After taking a short nap, we got ready again and walked to Putra Stadium. We arrived there quite early too so, we had to wait again. After almost 1 hour+ of waiting, they finally opened the gates and we quickly rushed in to find our seats. Our seats were quite front so, it's just nice for us to sit there. Btw, the players were warming up already when we came in.

McEnroe and Borg getting ready to warm up

Federer warming up too!

Me and Blake! You can also notice that the focus is on him, not me :)

The show started at around 7pm++. There were 3 matches: 2 singles and 1 doubles. John McEnroe and Bjorn Borg played first followed by Federer and James Blake. After the singles, the USA team (Blake and McEnroe) played agaisnt the European team (Federer and Borg). It was wonderful and awesome to watch them play live. Incredible experience!

Love this pic! (Suraya loves looking at his butt..)

One of my favorite pictures! It's a lil' blur but I still like it..

One of the very dramatic moments.. Haha!

4 of them after the doubles

Really thank God for this wonderful epxerience. Btw, did I mention I was on national TV as well? Haha! My parents, cousins and friends saw us on TV. *Embarrassed* And now almost everyone knows I did not open my mouth to sing 'Negaraku'. Bluek :)

Smeagol d FedEx 76(4) 76(7)

After I reached home last night from my cousin's friends' BBQ party, I found out that Federer was playing against Stepanek for the ATP Rome quarterfinals! So, I went online and open up the live scores. The points were really close but, I didn't seem to care a lot because I was quite sure Federer will win. Buuuuuuuutttttttttt....... He lost in the first tie break! And then, he lost in the second tie break! The points were so close!

*Sobs...*

Btw, here's a very interesting conversation between ErJie and I while we were watching the match and the live scores. Enjoy!

Monte Carlo Finals!

Federer is playing against Nadal now at the Monte Carlo Finals!

I'm quite excited about it because I really want Federer to win this... And also to win the other titles and grand slams as well. Plus, Nadal has been winning this title for the past 3 years! I'm still looking at the live scores, in a silent excitement...

**********Updated**********

Aiks... Federer lost to Nadal, 5 - 7, 5 - 7. So close! And he was actually leading in the second set but, Nadal managed to catch up. :( Really hope he will do better in the French Open and defeat Nadal! Hehe... Hope he will be able to maintain his grand slams titles as well.

I Miss Tennis!

I miss playing tennis, I miss joining tennis competitions, I miss playing with Michelle & Amelia in doubles, and I miss playing around with my tennis friends!!!

The tennis court that I used to play at..

I have been under the sun with ErJie at the tennis court for the past 2 days, accompanying Lynna while she competed in this year's Tennis Inter-school Competition. Accompanying her this time really made me miss tennis so much! I started to compete since Primary 5 but only started to represent Miri when I was in Primary 6. I am not a good player but, I do love the game a lot.

Me under the hot sun!

Not forget to mention, I met up with most of my tennis friends. I miss playing around, talking with them. They are really fun to talk with. We even tried to fit into my Kelisa to go to Parkson for lunch. There were 7 of us squeezing.. Well, not really 7 because ErJie and I were sitting in front so, the rest of the tennis girls were behind. Haha..

From the left: Me, Paige, Amelia, Andrea and Shamini

Sanjeet and Helena singing and dancing.. Haha..

The girls and.. C. Heward behind.. Haha..

OK.. Arif a.k.a French Fries trying to be the centre of attention.. Haha!

Btw, my sister, Lynna, got a bronze for her doubles. She lost in her singles, but I'm still quite proud of her because she won 1 game from her opponent. Good experience for her because joining this competition is really the golden opportunity to learn more about tennis. Glad she did well. Hope that she'll do better than this time. ^_^

Lynna and Helena..

Them and their opponents.. (They seems like they are whispering something.. Hmph..)

I really do hope I have the chance to join the competition again. Although I know it's pretty impossible, I won't stop playing tennis. I will still continue to play for my own interest. Hehe..
