Birthday Celebration

My housemates and friends planned a surprise for me a week after my exams. It was quite unexpected because I thought the cake surprise was already the surprise they planned. But, that’s not the end…

Before I start, I just want to let you all know that I got a band 8 for my IELTS exams! I’m so happy because I really wanted an 8 and I thought I did badly at the writing part. But, God is so good! He bless me a band 8 and I’m really happy about it. ;)

Ok, let’s get back to the birthday surprise. Honestly, I am traumatised. I don’t want any birthday surprises anymore, please! But, I’m really touched that my housemates and friends spent the time planning everything. I feel so guilty honestly…

Some of my friends who planned the birthday surprise!

They brought me to Alamanda blindfolded. I knew we were going there and I had even planned to shop for certain things there. But, somehow, my housemates got my blindfolded and made me walked from my apartment all the way out to the bus stop outside college. Then, I got into the van.

On the way to Alamanda, my friends revealed their plan to me. And pity me, I panicked. And what’s their plan? To bring me to a blind date. I’m so, so –_-||. It wasn’t fun guessing who.

It was just my friend from college who goes to the same church. I feel sorry for him coz’ my crazy friends made him wear a singlet and boxers. And the funny thing is, he really reminded me of Kim Teck who wore the same thing during Mufti Day 2007.

Mufti Day 2007… Some kind of de javu I guess? Lol!

So, after that, we went separate ways. I went to do hair treatment since my hair is in quite a disastrous condition. Not very disastrous but, I could feel my hair was in a bad condition. Thanks to Dove, my itchy scalp and dandruff is back. Hmph! But, my hair is so much better and smells cocoa butter. Hehe…

Toilet photo shoot!

We went to watch The Ugly Truth. Well, the movie was OK but, I strongly disagree with what they say about relationships. They are portraying the wrong ways of having relationships so, little girls, don’t learn anything from this movie OK? Read more Joshua Harris’ books if you want to learn more on relationships – though I have yet to read them.

I saw this very cute Hello Kitty in the arcade! Love Kitty-chan ;)

After movie, we went to eat dinner. We had a hard time finding place to eat coz’ the restaurants were all fully booked. So, we split and I went to eat Sushi King. It was quite nice eating there after getting diarrhea twice due to sushi. But, I didn’t get that from Sushi King. Lol~

My favourite sushi! Michelle’s favourite too… ;) (My hair after the treatment)

After dinner, we went walking around for a while before proceeding back to college.

Honestly, I am very traumatised. Don’t know how many times I have to say this but, I’m happy for what my friends had done for me. I’m really touched and thank you so much!!! Muaks to all of you girls!

Btw,I’ll be celebrating next my birthday in India. Don’t know whether I should be happy or sad… Hmm…

19

I’m 19 years old. Time really does fly and it seems like yesterday I was just 17!

It’s not my first time celebrating my birthday during exams period. 1st time was when I was 12. I was sitting for UPSR at that time and my birthday happened to be on the 2nd day of the exam. Being so stubborn and lazy, I refused to study Science. So, I ended up getting a B for it. I’m the only one in my family that didn’t score straight As for UPSR and I was really disappointed at myself. I really felt stupid at that time. But, things changed better when I got to secondary school.

2nd time was when I was 15. I could still remember I was sitting for my PMR trials exams. Determined not to repeat the history again, I promised to study hard and not take my birthday as an excuse to be lazy. My 15th Birthday was really one of my most favourite. I didn’t do much on that very day. I didn’t receive a lot of presents or any surprises from friends either. But, I really felt that it was a very personal birthday celebration between God and me. It’s so difficult to explain the feelings here but, trust me, I really felt so good. Not to forget to mention, I had a great birthday breakfast with my parents on that day!

And now, on my very 19th Birthday, I had to celebrate it with Physics and Chemistry. Sad but, I did enjoy it. Although I had tough times trying to focus studies on that day, God managed to calm me down and guide me to finish the chapters. And… I got a very cute surprise from my college mates! My housemates were really sweet that they planned to surprise me at 12 midnight of September 3. I know they had a hard time planning because I kept reminding them about my birthday and telling them my birthday wishes! And I could easily see through their actions too! But, I was really touched. They gave me a black dress, a pair of earrings and a butterfly hairclip! So cute… Also, Mandy posted a parcel to me and it was a photo album containing all the secondary school pictures including my ugliest picture!

A BIG THANK YOU to all of you! THANK YOU so much for all of these. And also THANK YOU to all who text messaged and facebook-messaged me all the birthday wishes. Thank you so much and May God bless you all! Muaks!

P/s: I have yet to upload the pictures onto my laptop. Gotta grab them from my friends first. So, stay tune for pictures!

Little Superhero Girl

I just got to know this really nice song ‘Little Superhero Girl’ by Corrine May. I first heard it at ACTS Church’s Unplugged and the song was sang by Ellie who has a fantastic voice.

This post is really random. I’m way behind my schedule. I’m trying to ‘swallow’ the Bio chapters as much and as fast as possible but, I really find it difficult. I hope time can just slow down a little bit for this moment. I still got other subjects to cover as well! =(

v

Study like crazy!

I’m very, very sleepy now. I don’t usually feel sleepy around this time but, maybe it’s because I haven’t been taking afternoon naps for the past few days. I actually feel good about it coz’ I really sleep a lot and to actually not sleep in the afternoon is a big challenge to me. Lol~

Btw, I had Secret Recipe for both my lunch and dinner today. It was really an impulsive decision to go there to eat. Luckily, I had Sarah to ‘teman’ me. I had Cordon Bleu and Greek Salad for lunch and ‘tapao-ed’ Sherperd’s pie for dinner. Ok, not just that! I also bought a slice of Oreo Cheese which tasted good. I’m not really a cake person btw.

And I’m really missing home… I really want to go home. Most of my college mates are back home for this weekend and I’m here all alone. =( I miss family, dogs, friends and everything back in Miri! Btw, I had a long phone talk with Michelle 2 nights ago. I miss her so much! I was quite troubled that night but, she called me to comfort me and we ended up talking about a lot of things. Really miss those old times when we always call each other and talk. Nostalgia!

And last part of this post, I have a friend who’s turning 19 on this coming Thursday! Although she’ll be having her exams on her birthday, I hope she’ll be thankful to God no matter what. She doesn’t hope for anything big or special even though she has been acting very weird towards her housemates. Naughty girl! Lol~ Btw, I hope she’ll have a good time and really appreciate the things in her life. An early Happy 19th Birthday to her !

Turning 18

I'm officially 18! Well, not that I'm super excited about it but, it's really a very special age to me. It's a very significant age. It's the age where everybody starts to mature and learns to make important decisions in life. This means it's time for me to grow up!

This is my very first time celebrating my birthday away from home. I did feel a little bit homesick, not being able to celebrate my birthday with my family back home. But, it was quite fun celebrating my 18th birthday here. My college friends brought me out to eat at KFC, Giant on 2nd Sept and surprised me with a birthday cake. It was really sweet of them to do that. Well, I kind of ruined their surprises for me coz' when Jun Mei and Suraya wanted to enter KFC with the cake, I turned around and saw them. But, I was really touched. At 12 midnight, 3rd Sept, they sent me birthday messages and gave me a really cute bag. My class, ALL9, gave me a card which I really love! Kok made it and she is incredible in making cards. My friends sang me a birthday song during CF at night too. Not forgetting, Mandy, who specially sent a birthday parcel all over from Oz.

It was indeed one of the great birthdays I had. A really BIG THANK YOU to everybody for the birthday wishes and presents. May God bless all of you!

Ho's Birthday Party!

A few of us went to Parkson on 6th March to celebrate Ho's 18th birthday! Ho is one of my always and ever happy-go-lucky friends. He is one of my old friends from St. Co Primary School too. We are quite good friends but aren't very close. But, he is always the one to be there to cheer us up and help us whenever we need help. Really appreciate him as my good friend...

The Birthday Boy!

We had dinner at Pizza Hut. I haven't been there for a long time! Food was OK. But, we had lots of fun talking and laughing around. Made me miss those old times! Haha... Mandy was kind of high too that night. She kept smiling and laughing! (Catch her poses at the pictures below!) Interesting girl... Hehe...

Mandy and Kok How... (Notice Mandy? She looks soooo happy!)

Mandy and Vivian! (Mandy is still so happy... Interesting girl... ^_^)

Us on the mirror!

The rest eating...

After dinner, we went for an interesting movie, 10000 BC. Not bad... I enjoyed the movie very well and it was a good one. :) Although the props and set-ups are kind of weird, the plot is quite good. Btw, the animals are so cute! Hehe...

P/s: Mandy, you don't look ugly in those pictures!

More about Lim Yu Zhong

Weeks before LYZ's concert in Miri, my friend told me that he is going to have a concert in Miri. I was so excited and nervous. Excited was because I really want to see him but nervous because I scared I couldn't make it again like what had happened before - Daniel's concert. Then, few days after, my friend told me again that LYZ is having his concert on 3rd Sept. Wait a minute, 3rd Sept????!!!! I was stunned. I felt even more nervous because it was going to be on my birthday! Oohhh....
Then, one day, my friend called again. He said he was going to buy the tickets for the concert and asked me whether I want to buy or not. So, I persuaded my parents and my dad said "Oh, on your b'day huh? Go go go.. Can..." So, I got the tickets.

Me posing with my ticket!

On that very special day, I was very excited. I kept thinking about it. Vivian and Emandy told me that they have a surprise for me and asked me to reach the place earlier. I was so curious and nervous, wondering what's the surprise. Then, when I reached there, I found out that my friend had a special pass to personal take a picture with him. She planned to bring me along to take a picture with him. I was flabbergasted! We waited and waited and finally got to see him. However, they seems to be in a hurry. Right after we went in, they urged us to hurry.

My friends and I posing with LYZ ^*^

After that, we went to the ballroom and take our seats. The concert started in about 15 minutes later.
The stage

He started off with 'Kong Qiu Qian', one of The Beginning's theme song which I love a lot! After he sang, I screamed a few times. The host actually noticed it and asked who was.

LYZ and the host

Thanks to my 'badges-lover' juniors, they pointed me. The host said something which I couldn't really remember and said that he will invite me to the stage during the game session. Then, LYZ continued to sing another two songs.

LYZ singing... His songs are really nice~

Then, it was game session! I actually thought the host would forgot about me but he didn't! He called me up the stage. My juniors even told the host that I'm having my birthday that day. The host said that this sure be my best present as I could see LYZ and shake hands with him too. ^*^ Then, each of us got to introduce ourselves to LYZ. For a Chinese who doesn't take Chinese as one of the subjects like me, I struggled to understand what the host was saying. I realised that we were suppose to sing LYZ's song. Oh-oh... I love his songs but, I don't read Chinese lyrics so, I basically don't know the lyrics of his songs except the chorus. But, thank God that he has a duet with Sheila Majid which has Malay words in it. I know how to sing the whole song. So, I sang it! Haha~ I actually forgot the lyrics but, LYZ helped me out a bit and I think he actually sang with me in some parts. I was sooooo happy.. Haha~ He even commented that my voice is sweet. Ah~~~ La la la... So, in the end, I got to personally take a picture with him. I was so happy and excited.. After that, he ended the concert with another two songs.

Another picture for LYZ singing

During the autograph session, I went up twice because I forgot to ask him to write "Happy Birthday" for me. He even drew a smiley on it! Haha~

Autograph session

I was really happy on that DAY.

Best Birthday EVER!!!!!

Just had my 17th Birthday 2 days ago. It was really great! Special thanks to my family and best friends for the surprise cake, presents and cheering. So, how did I celebrate my birthday? Hehe...
I went to Lim Yu Zhong's concert on that night.

He's soooo cute...

I was so happy and excited! I really like LYZ and his songs. He is really talented and cute! I was very 'high' that night, screaming, shouting and clapping.

I even went up the stage to play a game with LYZ and earned myself a personal photo with him! Wow~ I was flabbergasted!

I love this picture.. It looks so good.. Hehe..

I bought a small gift for him. It was the small pack above the blue box (Emandy's gift for him)

Really thank God for all of these.

p/s: Will upload more pictures again. I am going to Zhang Dong Liang's concert tonight!!!
