It's Confirmed!

I know I didn't really make an official post about the JPA scholarship that I applied for a few months ago. Yes, I got shortlisted for the interview which I thought was a great experience. And praise the Lord, I am awarded the scholarship to study dentistry. It was really a great news for my family and I. Really thank God for it. However, I still didn't get to know where I will be posted to for my dentistry course. I had to wait for about 2 weeks for the offer letter to come!

While the others had gotten theirs, I was waiting anxiously at home. I couldn't even bear the curiosity in me! So, I had ErJie to call the JPA for me and ask. And yes, they were quite open to tell and I will be posted to INDIA. She messaged me through MSN and I thought she was just kidding! But, it was really true. I'm going to INDIA. Honestly, I was very sad and I actually cried when I knew it because I really wanted to go to NZ or Australia or anywhere ErJie is going to but, INDIA. And I really wanted to go to the 4-seasoned countries. Was totally depressed!


But, I still got to face the fact. And yes, I did feel much better after chatting to ErJie. She told me about her friends studying there and they are all doing very good there. And the accommodations there are quite luxurious. Not bad at all studying in India. So, I was quite OK after talking to my sister. I guess I was the only one overreacting because even my mum and dad were OK with the results. One important thing that I realised was that this is what God has planned for me. This is where He wants me to go and hopefully through this, I will be closer to Him.

Btw, I will be doing my Cambridge A-Levels at KTT (Kolej Teknologi Timur) for 1.5years. But, I prefer to call it ETC. Sounds much better right? Haha... It's located at Sepang which is so far from the city! But, I don't mind. I am still going to find ways to get myself to ErJie's place every weekend. I am going there very soon. The place is quite... I don't know how to describe it but, I'll let you guys know when I'm there. I just really hope I'll get a good place and good, clean house mates. Please pray for me... Really hope everything will be fine there too.


And... I just went for my medical check-up today. Gosh... I came back with two weak arms! I had a blood test where the nurse had a hard time looking for my blood vessels and she almost had to do it for two times. Then, I had an injection to test for TB where the nurse drew a big circle around it and wrote some notes on my arm and warned me not to rub it off. Oh yeah! Not forgetting, I even had a vaccination yesterday which made my arm hurts. :( Well, I just got to get used to these things as I will have to go over the same process when I go to India.

So, right now, I am still trying to analyse the forms I have to fill, get it done ASAP and get as much info as I can about ETC (KTT). Please do pray for me when I'm there. No matter what, I will stay strong and have faith in God. Don't worry! ^_^

Scooby's First Exposure!

Spot Scooby!

The prize giving ceremony was held on last Sunday at Taman Bulatan Park. Besides just the prize giving, they even organised the Pure Breed Dog Competition and Exhibition. So, there were a lot of adorable dogs there! Bringing an un-trained dog to public places was quite worrying but, Scooby appeared to be very disciplined and quiet! Instead of running around, barking at dogs, he just sat down quietly with my dad at one side. To my surprise, he even allowed people to touch and pat him!

There were a lot of people who took pictures of him and asked lots of questions about him! They asked about his age, breed, weight and what he eats because he is so fat! However, there was one question that left me speechless. There was one lady who came, looking excited and asked: Is she having babies? Is she pregnant? *Smack my head!*

Not forgetting, there were so many cute dogs around too! They are so cute and beautiful. There was one which caught my attention, a St. Bernard. So huge and cute! We really liked it. After the event, my dad even planned to ask where we can get a St. Bernard because he wants one too. -_-|| We also saw a lot of German Shepherds, Bulldogs, Shih Tzus and etc.

After spending about 3 hours there, we finally got the prize and went back home. While we were walking back to our car, Scooby behaved very well and followed my dad back without any chaos! We didn't even have to pull him just to get him back to the car. Impressive, little Scooby! Well, that's roughly what happened on last Sunday. Scooby really impressed us and no doubt that we will consider to enter him into dog competitions next time!



P/s: I thank God for blessing us this really cute dog, Scooby. Not forgetting, our smart HeiQ too!

Karen Kong Meet The Fans!

Karen Kong, a 22 year old petite singer, hails from Labuan, came to Miri on Friday for 2 meet-the-fans sessions at both Bintang Plaza and Halo Cafe. I actually planned to go to Bintang Plaza but, canceled the plan because it was Greg's birthday. So, I decided to go to Halo Cafe. However, things were much different from what we had planned!

Yes, I ended up at Bintang Plaza! Joa and I actually went there to get Greg's present but, we got stuck there because Arvin was late. We didn't really go out and watch because it was hot. So, we stayed inside and listened to her singing. We were there till about 8.15pm and rushed to Ming Cafe.

I spotted someone looking tired and hungry at the main entrance!

I didn't stay long at Ming Cafe coz' promised Ning Jie that I would meet up with her at 8.30pm to go to Halo Cafe. (Sorry guys! :( Couldn't stay long!) When we're there, we ordered our food and waited patiently. Not long after, Ah Ning and Lynna arrived. And Karen Kong made it to the place within a few minutes after.

She is really good! Her voice is truly strong, firm and sweet. And her songs are really good too! She sang some of her popular songs and other songs as well. One of her best songs that night was 'tai sha' (too stupid) was terrific! I even noticed a group of people looking amazed with their eyes locked at her. She is one good singer...

I Love My Friends!

Holly's Story

It's been a very long time since I read a storybook. I must admit that it's really difficult for me to find a nice and suitable one for myself to enjoy. I had read the Laurel Shadrach series which was one of my favourites! After then, I don't remember reading something that I am really interested in.

But now, recently, I found a book on my nearly-abandoned book shelf entitled Angels in Pink: Holly's Story by Lurlene McDaniel. I'd seen it before but, never bothered to read But, I was kind of bored at that time so, I decided to give it a try.

Synopsis:

Pink Angels and best friends Holly, Raina, and Kathleen have been through a lot over the past year. The summer before their senior year promises to be busy but fun, as Holly and Raina return to their full-time volunteer jobs at the hospital and Kathleen, who needs the money, works at the hospital gift shop. Of course, Raina and Kathleen will be spending as much time as possible with their boyfriends, Hunter and Carson.
Holly is happy for her friends, but she can’t help feeling a little left out when hanging out with the two couples. She did finally have a boy interested in her, but the e-mails from her secret admirer, Shy Boy, recently stopped coming. What has she done wrong? Will she ever meet her mystery guy in person? But Holly’s world forever changes when tragedy strikes close to home. It’s not fair that the most loving and giving person she knows is the victim of a random crime. She, Raina, and Kathleen will need each other now more than ever.

As I read, I really got myself into it! And believe it or not, I actually cried when I read it. Weird because I suddenly felt like as if I was watching a movie. Tears just kept rolling down from my cheeks. At this point, I really must say that I am truly touched by the story.
Aside from that, I realised that no matter what happened to us, it's all part of God's plan. No matter what, we should not lose our faith in Him.

It's really a nice, simple and inspiring book especially to the teenagers so, feel free to give it a try! I don't mind lending it to anyone of you if you are interested. ^_^ Just let me know!

Seafood Allergy!

Have I ever mention that I'm allergic to seafood? Not only that! I'm also allergic to penicillin (a type of antibiotic). And now, my mum assumes that I am allergic to preservatives due to my reactions after eating those keropoks. Pretty pathetic right? I guess some might be wondering, "If this girl is allergic to seafood and all, why is she still fat??!!". Honestly, I don't know too! Haha...

I had my seafood allergy (except for fish) since young. Whenever, I eat seafood like prawns, I will tend to have rashes around the area of my mouth! And my throat will start to feel very uncomfortable. So, it's quite obvious that I have no memories on how the food taste like.

The only 'seafood' I can eat!

As I grow up, my allergy reaction towards seafood changed. Instead of having rashes around my mouth, my eyes tend to be very itchy! So itchy that I couldn't stop blinking and rubbing them. Even eating seafood flavoured keropoks can cause an allergy reaction. I even had my mum to banned me from eating the junk food because of it. There was once when I had one of the worst situations. After having dinner with my family, I started to feel awkward and my face got really itchy that it went red! Then, we realised that the vegetable we had was seasoned with oyster sauce. Bluek! The oyster culprit... My mum even had to rush me to the clinic to get some medications.

Yummy... *Sobs*

Right now, it seems that every time when I eat something that has seafood in it, I will start to sneeze non-stop, followed by having a bad flu. Funny! I'm not sure whether it's the allergy reaction or not but, it shows a strong sign that I should still be careful of what I eat. No doubt that I'm still allergic to seafood although ErJie kept telling me that it's just my physcology problem.

I wonder how will this taste like...

Well, it might seems to be a pretty sad thing for me not being able to eat seafood but, frankly, I don't really mind. The only thing that disappoint me is not having the chance to know how the seafood taste like and always giving my family and friends hard times to order the food they like (usually seafood) because of my allergy. Feel guilty sometimes for that. But, no matter what, I thank God for what and how I am because that's how He created me. ^_'

From internet! Really, really sorry for not updating my blog! The internet connection at my place is very terrible lately. It keeps going on and off and I can't even go online for 10 minutes! Haiks!

After I reached home last night from my cousin's friends' BBQ party, I found out that Federer was playing against Stepanek for the ATP Rome quarterfinals! So, I went online and open up the live scores. The points were really close but, I didn't seem to care a lot because I was quite sure Federer will win. Buuuuuuuutttttttttt....... He lost in the first tie break! And then, he lost in the second tie break! The points were so close!

Brruuhh!

Why am I so careless?! I kept falling down now-a-days. It was just a week ago when I lost my balance due to my numbed leg and fell face down on the cold, hard floor. My right arm and thigh hurt!

And guess what?!

I fell down again today at college while presenting a sketch show for my group. I was suppose to punch my friend, Jinky, but I ended up pushing him down to the floor because I slipped! *Ouch* It was so painful but, I had to continue to get up and act as normal! I hurt my right knee and now, it hurts whenever I want to bend it! I suddenly feel like a little kid, always running into troubles and ended up getting bruises all over the body... Haha!

I guess I better be careful next time or else...

Out For A Formal Night!

I attended a formal dinner organised by the Curtin Leos for their 8th Birthday last Saturday. It has been a long time since the last time I attended this kind of functions. It's like I'm back to the old times... Haha!

I went there with Michelle! She's back for 5 days but, just went back to KL on Sunday. :( We did have fun talking, taking lots of pictures! Well, nothing much interesting on that night but, more on meeting old friends! Overall, it's just a very normal formal dinner but, the performance by the band was really good.
